Yeovil, Somerset, United Kingdom Leonardo Full time

At Leonardo, we are seeking a talented Aerospace Engineering Apprentice to join our team. This exciting opportunity is part of our commitment to developing the next generation of engineers.

This role will provide you with the chance to work on cutting-edge projects and collaborate with experienced professionals in the field. As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various areas of mechanical engineering, including airframe, propulsion, fuel, hydraulics, flying controls, rotors, and transmissions.

We offer a comprehensive training program that includes both theoretical and practical components. You will be working towards a Level 3 competence qualification in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.

The apprenticeship is divided into four years, with a mix of on-site and college-based learning. In your first year, you will focus on completing the Level 2 competence qualification in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and starting the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. From there, you will progress to work placements at Leonardo Helicopters, where you will gain valuable industry experience.

In addition to your technical skills, we value teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Our ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, preferably with GCSEs in Mathematics and Science. Knowledge of engineering principles and experience in a related field would be beneficial but not essential.

If you are motivated, enthusiastic, and eager to learn, we encourage you to apply for this challenging and rewarding role. Our company culture values diversity, inclusion, and continuous improvement, making us an attractive employer for individuals from all walks of life.

We estimate that the salary for this position will be around £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications. We also offer a range of benefits, including flexible working hours, access to Coursera courses, and an Employee Assistance Programme.
