Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join our team at JDT Utilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing commercial support to our operations team, ensuring the effective management and coordination of procurement events and the delivery of the works costing function.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Production of timely and accurate tender / procurement submissions.
  2. Perform the Quantity Surveyor function in the maintenance of the costs / rates database, analysing the inflationary risks between pricing and commencement.
  3. Collation of work package summaries for upcoming contract periods for review by the Commercial Officer and Board of Directors.
  4. The production of Microsoft project plans and execution statements as part of a full tendering suite.
  5. Monitoring of the Due Diligence and awarded works trackers for deficits against the internal target.
  6. Monitor and forecast of the depot financial performance.
  7. Production of project CVRs to be reported to the Commercial Officer and Head of Operations.
  8. Coordination with Commercial Officer to conduct value management and cost control to identify and drive efficiency in business activities.
  9. Assessment of Valuations/payment documents, raising dispute with inaccuracies and managing the dispute resolution process.
  10. Production and recording of the DAF and CE quotes/invoices.
  11. Maintenance of the PULSE project cost and revenue data, supporting the Project managers in managing cost control on projects.
  12. Tracking of the team payments and productivity, producing weekly/fortnightly/monthly reports for review by the Head of Ops and Commercial Officer.
  13. Tracking of the contractual changes between financial year and ensuring new pricing accounts for variations in cost.
  14. Attendance of the weekly planning and performance meetings to identify potential cost implications and reduction in productivity.

Requirements

RICS QS BSc, HND, MRICS qualified.

QS/commercial experience in the construction industry.

Experience of MS Office IT systems.

Full computer literacy.

Personable, professional and comfortable with conflict management.

Contract Details

Contract Type - Temporary Projects, Contracted, full time 38-45 hrs pw.

Location - Head Office Winfrith, but travel to other depots in Wimborne, and the Greater London Area.
