Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking a skilled Assistant Cost Manager to join our dynamic Cost Management team in Cambridge. As a key member of our Real Estate team, you will be responsible for assisting on feasibility studies, writing procurement reports, and estimating and cost planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting on feasibility studies and writing procurement reports
  • Estimating and cost planning, including producing and presenting the final cost plan
  • Tendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage and producing the tender report
  • Dealing effectively with post-contract cost variances and change control processes
  • Producing monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
  • Inputting into value engineering and negotiating and agreeing final accounts
  • Interfacing with clients and other consultants at all project stages

Requirements

  • Good technical grounding in cost management and contractor background
  • Experience of acting as Commission Manager on small to medium-sized projects or related experience
  • Good knowledge of main procurement methods and their application
  • Knowledge and understanding of value engineering
  • Experience of utilising industry-standard processes and systems
  • Professionally qualified (RICS or similar)
  • Degree or HNC level qualification
  • Ability to successfully manage and prioritise multiple projects
