Oxford Nanopore Technologies is a leading innovator in real-time nanopore-based DNA/RNA sequencing technology. We are seeking a skilled Technical Product Manager to join our team and drive the successful creation, execution, and launch of new products across the organization.

The ideal candidate will serve as an Agile Product Owner for a team of software developers working on our analysis software, EPI2ME. This cloud and local analysis solution is designed for data produced through Nanopore sequencing.

As Technical Product Manager, you will manage the team's workload through Agile sprints, including requirements gathering, ticket creation, and running Agile ceremonies. You will also gather customer feedback to identify customer needs and issues and convert this feedback into actionable tasks for the development team.

Key responsibilities include working with other teams to deliver innovative analysis workflows and software solutions, collaborating with senior product managers on the roadmap for the analysis software team, and managing the day-to-day Agile processes of the team.

We are looking for a quick learner who is eager to learn more about nanopore sequencing and analysis. Prior experience in the biotechnology industry is preferred, as is familiarity with DNA sequencing analysis and analysis software.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable using Atlassian products, including Jira and Confluence, and will be able to effectively communicate between software developers, customers, and other parts of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with other teams to deliver innovative analysis workflows and software solutions
  • Collaborate with senior product managers on the roadmap for the analysis software team
  • Manage the day-to-day Agile processes of the team
  • Gather and distill customer feedback and translate that to product requirements for the team
  • Support sales and marketing with product information and updates
  • Ensure release timelines are hit and manage release activities such as announcements and release notes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, biology, hard science, or computer science preferred
  • At least 1-2 years of software product management experience in an Agile framework
  • Prior experience in the biotechnology industry preferred
  • Familiarity with DNA sequencing analysis and analysis software preferred
  • Comfortable using Atlassian products, including Jira and Confluence
