About the Role
  • We are seeking a skilled Security Engineer to join our team at Hoare Lea.
  • As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting clients and stakeholders in establishing project security requirements.
  • You will develop threat and risk assessments, and identify associated security operational requirements that underpin the development of technical security designs.
  • Your day-to-day tasks will vary, and you will be exposed to all aspects of our work, enabling you to develop a good all-round understanding of security engineering.
  • You will develop physical and electronic security solutions aligned to approved security strategies, and liaise with wider design teams to coordinate security requirements of projects.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Assisting with client and stakeholder engagement to establish project security requirements.
  2. Developing threat and risk assessments and identifying associated security operational requirements.
  3. Developing physical and electronic security solutions aligned to approved security strategies.
  4. Liaising with wider design teams to coordinate security requirements of projects.
  5. Proactively participating in the development of approaches to project delivery to support team growth.
Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar field, and a master’s or postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • A good working knowledge of engineering drawing and modelling tools such as CAD and REVIT.
  • Previous experience in a role within the built environment would be preferable.
  • A technical understanding of electronic security systems would be preferable.
  • Able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) before appointment and National Security Vetting at SC level when in post.
