About the Role:

The Financial Controller will head up the day-to-day management of the Finance department, providing reporting and analysis of financial data to support management decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with experience in a manufacturing SME environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and financial systems, ensuring supporting internal controls are appropriate and robust.
  • Monitor and report on performance against budgets and forecasts, with particular attention to Gross Margin analysis.
  • Lead the reporting for the project-based section of the business, ensuring there are weekly updates on the progress of each live project.
  • Review month-end balance sheet reconciliation and control accounts.
  • Oversee the monthly processing of payroll and other employee payments.
  • Act as systems administrator for the company's accounting system, providing training and working with IT to ensure appropriate access is granted.
  • Deliver daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly financial performance reports, ensuring meaningful relevant data is communicated effectively to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • CIMA Advanced Diploma or equivalent, with experience in a similar level role in a manufacturing SME environment.
  • Sound working knowledge of Sage 50, with experience in system administration.
  • Strong commercial business awareness, with the ability to provide strategic financial guidance.
  • ACA / ACCA qualification or part-qualified, with experience in people management and team leadership.
  • Management Qualification, with experience in project management and ad-hoc projects.
