As the Sommelier, you will be responsible for developing wine pairing suggestions for the menu, considering flavor profiles, ingredients, and cooking techniques. You will also provide personalized wine recommendations to guests, enhancing their dining experience and promoting wine education.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop wine pairing suggestions.
  2. Provide personalized wine recommendations to guests.
  3. Stay informed about the latest developments and trends in the wine industry.
  4. Conduct training sessions for restaurant staff to enhance their knowledge of wine.
  5. Oversee the organization and maintenance of the restaurant's wine cellar.
  6. Implement procedures for stock rotation, labeling, and recording of wine purchases and sales.
  7. Monitor inventory levels and assist in developing strategies to optimize wine sales and minimize waste.
  8. Interact with guests to understand their preferences and tailor wine recommendations.
  9. Host wine tasting events, wine dinners, and other promotional activities.
  10. Maintain equipment and report any breakages or shortages.
  11. Qualify for this role, you will need:
  12. Proven experience as a Sommelier in a high-end restaurant or hospitality establishment.
  13. Extensive knowledge of wine regions, grape varieties, and winemaking techniques.
  14. Strong palate and ability to discern nuanced flavors and aromas.
  15. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  16. Certification from recognized wine education programs preferred.
  17. A passion for sustainability and a commitment to promoting environmentally responsible practices.
