This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate in Molecular Biology to develop their skills and expertise in the industry. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with 0-2 years of experience to join our Cell Engineering group based in Cambridge, UK.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of R&D projects, contributing to the development of new mammalian expression hosts and vector systems. This role offers a challenging and dynamic environment, where you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the growth of our company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development of new mammalian expression hosts and vector systems.
  • Engineer mammalian cell lines using techniques such as random integration, targeted integration, and gene editing.
  • Generate mammalian expression vectors using advanced assembly techniques.
  • Characterise edited cell lines using assays and cell culture techniques.
  • Analyse and evaluate data to produce high-quality information.
  • Presentation of results in written and oral reports.
  • Collaborate with other groups to deliver solutions for recombinant protein expression.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant academic literature in cell engineering and expression technologies.
Requirements:
  • BSc/MSc Degree in Life Sciences, Science, or Molecular Biology.
  • Practical experience in an industrial or academic setting is desirable.
  • Strong technical background in molecular biology and cell culture, with experience in developing or manipulating mammalian expression systems.
  • Proven scientific execution, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive attitude towards working and solving challenging problems.
  • Good working knowledge of statistics and experimental design.
  • Experience in cell line engineering, preferably with CRISPR-based systems, is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of synthetic biology technologies is also desirable.
