Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team at Siteimprove. This is an exciting opportunity for a technical professional to drive the maturity of our AWS environment, design and implement scalable infrastructure, and collaborate closely with software engineering teams.

About the Role

This role offers a unique chance to develop a modernized platform driving a large migration of workloads from a self-managed Kubernetes cluster to EKS. As a DevOps Engineer, you will oversee the design and implementation of our platform infrastructure, ensure seamless deployment and operation of services, and drive continuous improvement and modernization efforts within the team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Scalable Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable AWS infrastructure for our SaaS platform.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering Teams: Collaborate with software engineering teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of services.
  • Implement CI/CD Pipelines: Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with security best practices and industry standards (ISO27001).
  • Deliver Strategic Initiatives: Deliver strategic initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with established goals.
  • Assist in Strategic Planning: Assist in the development of strategic plans for the DevOps team, aligning with the overall business objectives.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years experience in a DevOps role.
  • AWS Experience: Strong experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudFormation, and EKS.
  • Networking Knowledge: Solid understanding of networking concepts (e.g., VPC, subnetting, routing).
  • Kubernetes Experience: Experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes, EKS, service mesh, and related components.
  • IaC Tools: Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or similar tools.
  • Tooling Experience: Experience in tooling such as ArgoCD, Helm, and Jenkins.
  • Agile Methodologies: Hands-on experience with Jira for project management and Agile methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven Track Record: Proven track record of deploying and managing workloads/resources In an AWS environment.
  • EKS Migration Experience: Experience in migrating from self-managed Kubernetes to EKS.
  • Architectural Changes: Experience in driving architectural changes and modernization efforts, including the adoption of new technologies and best practices.
  • Serverless Computing: Knowledge of serverless computing and experience in leveraging serverless technologies, such as AWS Lambda, for cost-effective and scalable solutions.
  • Well-Architected Framework: Familiarity with AWS's Well-Architected Framework and best practices.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position ranges between $120,000 and $180,000 per year, depending on individual qualifications, market conditions, and other operational business needs.
