Design Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team in Manchester. As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading the design process for high-rise residential projects, working closely with our Senior Design Manager and Project Director.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and advise on the procurement of specialist design input in accordance with the Design Programme.
  • Assist in the commercial and technical review of specialist subcontract tender returns.
  • Monitor and advise on the progress and production of design documentation in accordance with the agreed Design Programme.
  • Undertake elemental coordination and technical compliance checks on specialist subcontractor design documentation.
  • Liaise with the Commercial team to develop and implement design proposals, data, bid deliverables, and reports within the constraints of the contract and internal commercial objectives.
Requirements:
  • Five years' experience as a Design Manager, working on commercial/high-rise/industrial/mix-use sectors.
  • An understanding of the construction process from pre-construction/tender stages through to handover.
  • Excellent understanding of BREEAM and Value Engineering principles.
  • Working knowledge of BIM requirements.
  • The ability to develop strong personal relationships with clients, consultants, and staff.
