Laboratory Soil Technician Position

Key Responsibilities:
As a Soil Technician at Cawood Scientific, you will be responsible for unloading and moving heavy batches of samples to the Grinder room, handling samples, and preparing them for grinding. You will also sort samples into order, manually stamp them with unique ID numbers, and perform maintenance on equipment when required.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Empty heavy sample bags and extraction buckets into allocated bins on site.
- Weigh dry samples and record data onto LIMs system and calculate the Dry Matter Percentage.
- Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures provided.
- Work in other preparation roles within the company as the workload dictates.
- Maintain Cawood credibility by portraying a positive image, keeping equipment and PPE clean.
- Respect company equipment and use as per guidelines. Report any damage to management as soon as possible.
Requirements:
- Enthusiasm, energy, and ability to handle high levels of workload which include heavy lifting.
- Must be able to work effectively and collaborate within own team and other sections.
- Must take initiative and have the ability to conduct hands-on work.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks with high attention to detail.
- Highly organised and excellent time management skills.
- Excellent team player with the ability to work alone.
- Experience working with high-volume turnover of work in a busy environment.
