Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator/Setter to join our team at The Logistics Partnership LLP, a comprehensive manufacturer of precision castings. Based in Halstead, Essex, this role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, materials handling, and the ability to work with various tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes to perform various machining operations
  • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine machine set-up and production methods
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure parts are produced according to specifications
  • Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
  • Work closely with the Inspection team to assure dimensional accuracy of product

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment, preferably castings
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of logic controllers and CNC Programming, preferably Fanuc controls
  • Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to production tasks

This role requires a strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work a day shift initially, getting used to the work, the machines, and working with everyone in the machining team. After this initial period, the successful candidate will switch onto their shift pattern of 1-week early, 1-week late shifts.
