About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Shift Manager to join our team at ZipRecruiter. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing site, minimizing machinery downtime, and improving equipment performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Minimizing Machinery Downtime: The Production Shift Manager will lead the engineering team in minimizing machinery downtime, ensuring that production schedules are met and that the manufacturing site operates efficiently.
  2. Improving Performance: The team will continually seek opportunities to enhance equipment performance, optimize processes, and implement upgrades to improve overall efficiency.
  3. Engineer Engagement: The Production Shift Manager will foster a positive work environment, provide training and development opportunities, and recognize and reward achievements to keep the engineering team engaged and motivated.
  4. Asset Care Programme: The successful candidate will lead and support the asset care programme, ensuring that assets are maintained and prolonged, maintenance costs are reduced, and best practices are adhered to.
  5. Hands-On Approach: The Production Shift Manager will be hands-on in repairing and optimizing equipment assets, ensuring that production disruptions are prevented and resources are allocated effectively.
  6. Crisis Incident Management: The candidate will be prepared to handle crisis incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring a safe working environment.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Qualifications to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering)
  2. A proven track record in an engineering and fault finding role gained from a FMCG environment (ideally the food industry)
  3. A proven track record of people management and delivering strong results through a team in a people management role
  4. A good understanding of HACCP principles and ideally IEE qualification up to 18th edition wiring regulations
  5. Excellent communication skills
  6. Assertiveness with the ability to make decisions on the spot
  7. A can-do attitude and a strong work ethic
