About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Exchange Messaging Engineer to provide essential expertise in messaging, email security, and collaboration at Uniting Ambition.

This is a dynamic role for a driven individual with a strong technical background in Microsoft Exchange, Email Security Appliances (ESA), Mobile Device Management (MDM), and collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and Maintain the Microsoft Exchange infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance for a robust enterprise messaging environment.
  • Implement and Configure Email Security Appliances (ESA) to protect against phishing, spam, malware, and other email-borne threats.
  • Administer Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions to support device security, data protection, and compliance for mobile users.
  • Support Collaboration Tools, particularly Microsoft Teams, enabling efficient communication and collaboration across departments and locations.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve messaging-related incidents and performance issues, ensuring minimal downtime and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in Migrations and upgrades for Exchange, MDM, and collaboration tools, keeping the organization on the cutting edge of secure messaging technologies.
  • Develop Documentation and best practices for system configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring a strong knowledge base within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Microsoft Exchange administration within an enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency with Email Security Appliances (ESA) such as Cisco ESA, Mimecast, or Proofpoint.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions like Microsoft Intune or VMware Workspace ONE.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams administration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols for messaging environments (e.g., TLS, SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Active Directory and other Microsoft 365 services.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell for automation and task optimisation.
