Clinical Nurse Specialist/Research Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in urology and a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing expert advice and support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals. They will also be responsible for promoting safe, competent, and evidence-based practice, in line with national objectives and within the clinical governance framework.

The post holder will work closely with the CNS support team to manage a caseload of patients within the specialty, delivering individualized and personalized direct patient care. They will also be responsible for acting as a key worker to patients, ensuring their needs are identified and met, including carrying out holistic needs assessments and associated care plans.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate and influence. They will also be able to problem-solve, prioritize, and work to deadlines, as well as demonstrate evidence of knowledge and ability to undertake change management.

We are looking for a candidate who is able to manage stressful situations and challenge decisions to ensure that patient needs are met. The ideal candidate will also have experience in TAC, TP biopsies, and SMDT meetings, as well as the ability to develop collaborative working relationships with multi-professional teams.
