About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit and Accounts Senior to join our team at Public Practice Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing audits, reviewing and preparing accounts, and providing tax, VAT, and bookkeeping services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage audits from planning to completion, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Review and prepare accounts for a range of owner-managed businesses, with turnovers up to £70 million.
  • Provide tax, VAT, and bookkeeping services, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
  • Lead a portfolio of clients, from resource planning to WIP and budget management.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Deliver a strong commercial awareness, identifying opportunities for fee development.
  • Present work to senior managers, ensuring high-quality delivery and completion of files.
  • Underpin audit and accounts matters with current legislation and compliance.
  • Handle compliance queries from clients, providing clear and concise communications.
  • Assist with pitching to new clients and attending networking opportunities, championing new business for the firm.
  • Delegate work to and mentor new trainees, supporting their learning and development.

Requirements
  • ACA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified with demonstrable accountancy practice experience.
  • Self-motivated and reliable, with a drive to progress and deliver high-quality results.
  • Technically efficient in both audit and accounting, with a strong commercial awareness.
  • A positive and constructive attitude, with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients.
