Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at The Mead Primary School in Hilperton, Trowbridge. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students, working closely with teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities will include assisting with lesson planning, preparing activities, and supporting students with their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social skills. You will also be responsible for meeting children's pastoral needs, taking responsibility for their welfare and hygiene, and supporting the preparation and adaptation of teaching aids, games, and worksheets.

Salary:

Position 1: Teaching Assistant / MDSA. Grade D-E (£23,114 - £23,893) depending on qualifications & experience.

Position 2: Teaching Assistant, Nurtured Learning. Grade D-E (£23,114 - £23,893) depending on qualifications & experience.

Hours of Work:

Position 1: 28.5 TA hrs & 2.5 MDSA hrs (8.45am - 3.15pm + 1 hr planning on a Thursday from 3.30pm-4.30pm).

Position 2: 36 TA hrs (8.45am - 3.15pm + 1 hr planning per week).

NB: There will be a requirement for both posts to undertake some Wrap Around Care duties until 4.15pm Monday to Friday. These duties can be split between the 2 positions, but there must be a willingness to ensure the whole week is covered between both positions; exact hours can be discussed at interview.

Contract:Fixed Term until 31st August 2025.

This role will involve contact with children and the post holder will be engaged in regulated activity relevant to children and will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed. We will only submit a DBS application to the relevant disclosure service when a position is accepted.
