Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Agricultural Recycling Operations Manager to join our team at the 4R Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of our recycling service contracts.

Main Responsibilities
  • Recycling Service Management: Supervise and manage the recycling service, ensuring it operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Client Liaison: Interact effectively with clients, land-owners, suppliers, and environmental regulators to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Outlet Sourcing: Secure suitable outlets for recycling operations, including agricultural land or land restoration sites.
  • Sub-Contractor Management: Manage sub-contractors and land-spreading applications to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Field Operations: Conduct field pollution risk assessments, mapping, data collection for EA/NRW permits, post-application inspections, stockpile storage management, and RAMS.
  • Sample Collection: Collect and submit soil, water, and product samples for laboratory analyses.
  • HGV Management: Assist with organizing and managing HGV movements between client production sites and recycling outlets.
  • Cost Control: Ensure cost control and operate within contract budgets.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with applicable regulations, defined Health & Safety standards, 4R Quality Management Systems, and ISO accreditations.
Shared Responsibilities
  • Ambassadorship: Act as an ambassador for the 4R Group at all times.
  • Health and Safety: Work to and follow all safety regulations under prevailing legislation and any relevant policies and job risk assessment.
  • Quality Management: Be aware, understand, and work to the requirements under the Group's external accreditations, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to complete additional or other responsibilities and tasks to help the team as needed.
Personal Specification
  • Agricultural Experience: Possess agricultural experience and knowledge.
  • Environmental Awareness: Have an understanding of environmental issues affecting soils, air, and water.
  • Contract Management: Have experience of contract management.
  • Qualifications: Possess a FACTS qualification, if applicable.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Have a basic understanding of the waste regulatory environment in the UK.
  • IT Skills: Be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and comfortable with mobile/flexible working environments.
Skills and Competencies
  • Communication: Possess excellent service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Relationship Management: Demonstrate commitment to relationship management and client satisfaction.
  • Attention to Detail: Show excellent attention to detail, especially for record keeping.
  • Planning and Organization: Possess good planning, organizing, and time management skills.
  • Driving License: Hold a full clean driving license and have the right to work in the UK.
Benefits
  • Salary: £25,000 to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, reviewed after 6 months.
  • Company Vehicle: Use of a 4R company vehicle and fuel card.
  • Holidays: 33 days inclusive of public holidays and a birthday holiday.
