We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Immigration Paralegal to join our team at a leading law firm. As an Immigration Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in assisting our clients with a range of Immigration matters, including dealing with Immigration applications, preparing cases, and attending conferences and court.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Report directly to the Department Director
- Assist with casework, including dealing with Immigration matters and undertaking your own advocacy
- Attend clients, take instructions, and prepare cases
- Deal with correspondence, including preparing and managing funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency
- Prepare draft documents, including witness statements and processing evidence
- Prepare applications to meet Home Office requirements, including drafting application forms, index of documents, and letters of representation
- Attend conferences and court, maintaining accurate time costing procedures
- Implement recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews
- Ensure compliance with file management
- Willingness to work towards Immigration Accreditation
- Passion and experience in a broad range of publically funded Immigration Law
- Strong academic background with a Law degree
- Legal experience as an Immigration Paralegal/Advisor
- Clear understanding and application of Immigration Laws
- Business acumen and the ability to market the Company
- Excellent communications skills to work effectively with all types of people
- Excellent analytical and organisational skills and ability to use own initiative but know when to seek guidance
- Committed team player, self-motivated and professional
- Excellent IT Skills - familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management skills
