Investment Director Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Investment Director to join our team at LGBT Great. The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with colleagues to support our continued growth, identifying opportunities to pursue and working to realise them.

The Investment Director will be 'Certified' under the Financial Conduct Authority Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This means that we'll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we'll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain 'fit and proper' and competent to carry out your role.

We'll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Upholding and taking responsibility for excellent standards of client service and ensuring that our clients' interests are at the heart of what we do
  • Working closely with the Business Development Manager and Investment Management team to build and maintain long lasting and profitable relationships with business introducers and clients
  • Being able to articulate and promote the key benefits of our bespoke portfolio service including our flagship retirement, Responsible Investment Service, AIM and Multi-asset fund services
  • Contributing to Brooks Macdonald's Centralised Research process, e.g. joining a Sector Research team
  • Working with colleagues to ensure consistent and strong investment returns for clients
  • Promoting positive investment and brand awareness of BM externally
  • Ensuring compliance with Brooks Macdonald's policies and procedures
  • Taking ownership of initiatives to grow the business and strengthen partnerships
  • Recognising industry changes that provide opportunities and challenges for business
  • Perform role always ensuring adherence to the expected behaviours stated in the FCA Conduct Rules

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Proven investment management experience
  • Can-do, entrepreneurial and growth mindset
  • Client-centric approach with exceptional communication skills
  • Passion and energy for delivering successful outcomes for our advisers and clients
  • Team player with strong work ethic
  • Investment Management Level 6 qualification, as a minimum
  • A sound understanding of regulatory requirements and industry developments
  • Ability to think outside the box to provide investment solutions and business opportunities
  • Able to build strong networks internally and externally
