Job Purpose

This role involves working with the senior members of the private client tax team to deliver accurate tax returns and advice to a diverse range of clients, including wealthy individuals, their families, and those with international aspects to their affairs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a client portfolio through the annual tax assurance process, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and providing ad-hoc advice to clients on their personal tax affairs.

The role also involves researching legislation and providing technical analysis to clients on matters affecting various tax issues, including income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a client portfolio through the annual tax assurance process.
  • Preparing and reviewing tax returns.
  • Providing ad-hoc advice to clients on their personal tax affairs.
  • Researching legislation and providing technical analysis to clients on matters affecting various tax issues.
  • Billing and WIP management.
  • Working with the wider Private Client Team to identify further advisory opportunities.
  • Delegating tasks efficiently, reviewing work, and fostering the development of more junior members of the team.

Requirements

  • CTA or ATT qualification, with experience in managing a personal tax assurance portfolio and reviewing tax returns.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commercial approach and understanding of risk management issues.
