About the Role

We are currently working in partnership with a reputable organization to recruit an Assistant Head of Service to join their passionate and driven team on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Supporting, guiding, managing, and developing the team to enable the achievement of customer and service goals.
  • Service Delivery: Ensuring that all association accommodation is maintained as a safe and pleasant environment for customers to maintain their tenancies.
  • Cost Efficiency: Managing and monitoring the service to ensure cost efficiency and value for money.
  • Occupancy Agreements: Administering occupancy agreements across accommodations and independent supported accommodation, including tenancy termination when necessary.
  • Customer Support: Ensuring customers are provided with practical support and counseling on matters such as housing, employment, finance, cultural needs, social and personal problems, education, social skills, hygiene, and health care.
  • Safeguarding: Taking responsibility for safeguarding and health and wellbeing concerns for customers and staff.
  • Rotas and Management: Maintaining rotas and ensuring effective management at the scheme.
  • Property Audits: Conducting regular property audits, providing remedial solutions, and reporting to the management team.
  • Team Performance: Monitoring team performance through conducting appraisals, audits, training, and inductions.
Requirements
  • Experience: Effectively managing a team within a Homeless Support service.
  • Client Interaction: Working alongside vulnerable clients and mediating complex situations.
  • Health and Safety: Monitoring health and safety and safeguarding concerns in line with regulations and policies.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Communication: Strong communication skills.
  • Legislation: Up-to-date knowledge on Homelessness and Housing legislation.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated and able to work independently.
