About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher to lead a class within an ARP (Additionally Resourced Provision) at a mainstream primary school. The class consists of 6-8 pupils, all of whom have been diagnosed with Autism. Some pupils may exhibit challenging behaviour, requiring a confident and skilled teacher to engage them effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver core subjects at an adapted level to students with complex needs
  • Implement emotional regulation, positive behaviour management, and de-escalation strategies to support vulnerable learners
  • Develop and maintain a nurturing, patient, and consistent approach to supporting students with Autism and complex communication needs
  • Familiarity with communication tools like PECs or Core Boards is essential
  • Build strong relationships with students who have complex needs and develop strategies to engage them effectively
  • Prior experience working with disengaged or vulnerable students is essential
