Catering Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Catering Engineer to join our team in Brighton. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial catering equipment across various sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Installation:
    1. Install commercial catering equipment, including ovens, grills, dishwashers, and refrigeration units.
    2. Ensure all installations meet industry standards and client specifications.
    3. Conduct site assessments to determine the best installation practices and equipment placement.
  2. Maintenance and Servicing:
    1. Perform regular maintenance checks and servicing of commercial catering equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
    2. Diagnose and repair faults in a timely and efficient manner to prevent equipment breakdowns and minimize disruption to clients' operations.
    3. Conduct safety inspections and tests on gas and electrical equipment to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  3. Callout Duties:
    1. Participate in the callout rota, responding promptly to emergency repair requests and ensuring issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
    2. Provide detailed reports on all callouts, including the nature of the fault, work carried out, and any further recommendations.
    3. Maintain clear and effective communication with clients during callouts, ensuring they are kept informed throughout the repair process.
  4. Customer Service:
    1. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing expert advice on equipment usage, maintenance, and safety.
    2. Recommend system upgrades or replacements when necessary, ensuring clients are aware of the latest industry advancements.
    3. Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring client satisfaction with all aspects of the work carried out.
Requirements:
  1. Experience and Qualifications:
    1. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a Commercial Catering Engineer.
    2. Must hold current COMCAT qualifications (1, 2, 3, and 5).
    3. Strong knowledge of commercial catering equipment, including gas and electric appliances.
    4. Experience in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of catering equipment.
  2. Skills:
    1. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and fix issues efficiently.
    2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
    3. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks based on urgency.
    4. Attention to detail, with a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
  3. Other Requirements:
    1. Full UK driving license.
    2. Willingness to participate in the callout rota and be flexible with working hours.
    3. Based within a commutable distance to Brighton and surrounding areas.
