Empowering Vulnerable Young People

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Social Worker to support unaccompanied asylum-seeking children as they settle into their new lives in the UK.

About the Position:

This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people by providing them with the care and guidance they need to thrive in our community.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Providing individualised support to UASC as looked-after children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development.
  • Navigating the complexities of the immigration system and advocating for their rights.
  • Supporting asylum-seeking young people as children in care, helping them to access education, healthcare, and other essential services.
  • Developing and implementing 'triple plan' pathway plans tailored to their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Conducting specialist assessments, including Merton-compliant age assessments where required.
  • Building strong relationships with young people and their families, providing them with a sense of security and stability.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A professional Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • A passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people.
  • Cultural awareness, empathy, and sensitivity to the unique needs of asylum-seeking children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with young people and their families.
