About the Role

Transforming the UK Heating Market

Vattenfall, a leading European market player, is seeking a highly skilled Sourcing Manager to join its UK team. As a key member of the Procurement and Contract Management function, you will play a vital role in shaping the company's sustainable heat solutions strategy.

Responsibilities

  1. Purchase services and materials, considering cost-efficiency, timely provision, and required quality.
  2. Tendering and negotiation of business needs in multiple categories (materials/services) based on purchase requisitions' specifications.
  3. Manage sourcing activities, internal approvals, and governance.
  4. Ensure coordination with Project Management/Category Management/Contract Management from the outset.
  5. Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, including commercial responsibility for mapping and sourcing strategies per Category.
  6. Support project lead engineer or Project Manager in the selection of commercial levers to be implemented.
  7. Ensure strategic and consistent approach towards Supply Chain development.
  8. Ensure compliance with Category Sourcing Strategy.
  9. Drive preparation and approval of tender documentation.
  10. Lead communication with tenderers during the sourcing phase.
  11. Lead internal activities with Finance, Compliance, Risk Management, Social Responsibility, Insurance, Legal, and QHSE departments.
  12. Manage and maintain supplier documentation.
  13. Perform supply market review, support with supplier management.
  14. Coordinate supplier selection based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  15. Liaise with requesters to drive spend through preferred suppliers or existing Framework agreements.
  16. Ensure competition and safeguard corporate interests, adhering to compliance and corporate guidelines.
  17. Contract controlling and clarification of contract and service disruptions.
  18. Work closely with the Business to choose the best options for goods and services while adding value and bringing savings to the company.

Requirements
  1. Relevant technical or commercial education.
  2. Experience with various types of procurement (Capex, Devex, Opex).
  3. Experience within procurement and/or contract management preferably in renewables, oil, and gas, or similar complex industries.
  4. Recommended experience with Category sourcing structure regarding Heat Distribution, construction, or similar.
  5. Strong analytic skills and profound commercial interest.
  6. Performance and results-oriented.
  7. Lead change management and drive change in an organization.
