Resource Base Teacher

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Resource Base Teacher to join our team at St. Paul's. As a Resource Base Teacher, you will work with children who have complex communication and interaction needs, providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that meets the specific needs of each pupil.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and creative lessons that support the diverse needs of pupils with complex communication and interaction difficulties.
- Differentiate teaching to accommodate individual learning styles, abilities, and communication methods, ensuring all pupils are Ready, Respectful, and Safe in the classroom.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes pupils' emotional well-being and personal growth.
- Monitor, assess, and report on pupils' progress using a variety of assessment tools to ensure appropriate educational targets are set and met.
- Develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and communicate with parents and carers to share pupils' achievements and next steps.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, support staff, and external professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to meeting pupils' needs.
- Maintain a calm, structured, and supportive classroom environment that upholds our school rules of Ready, Respectful, Safe.
- Implement behaviour management strategies that promote positive communication, interaction, and social skills development.
- Stay up to date with best practices in SEND and participate in regular training and CPD opportunities.
- Engage with the wider school community and contribute to whole-school initiatives such as OPAL and Forest School learning, promoting outdoor play and exploration where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience or a strong interest in teaching pupils with complex needs, particularly in communication and interaction.
- Passionate about making a difference to children's lives and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
- Strong understanding of child-centred approaches to education, SEND strategies, and differentiated teaching methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, parents, staff, and external agencies.
- Creative, patient, and able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances within the classroom.
