Senior Financial Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our client's finance team in Milton Keynes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the financial operations of a leading manufacturing and production business.

About the Role

The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts and financial statements, conducting variance analysis and reporting on key performance indicators, managing fixed asset registers and overseeing depreciation calculations, leading month-end and year-end closing processes, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements
  • Conduct variance analysis and report on key performance indicators
  • Manage fixed asset registers and oversee depreciation calculations
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Collaborate with various departments to improve financial processes
  • Support external audits and liaise with auditors as needed
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function

Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification with at least 3 years post-qualification experience
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Proficient in ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
  • Experience with lean accounting principles would be advantageous
