Join Michelmores as a Risk Lawyer

We are seeking an experienced Risk Lawyer to join our Governance and Risk team. As a key member of the team, you will provide legal and regulatory advice and guidance across the Firm, supporting key stakeholders with a broad range of risk and compliance issues.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team and contribute to the Firm's governance structure and culture. You will work closely with the Governance and Risk Partner and other team members to ensure we maintain the highest standards of professional conduct, effectively mitigate risk, and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal and regulatory advice and guidance across the Firm, supporting key stakeholders with a broad range of risk and compliance issues.
  • Support the Governance and Risk Partner and other team members in ensuring the Firm maintains the highest standards of professional conduct, effectively mitigates risk, and complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with the Business Services teams to ensure effective risk management and compliance.
  • Support with escalated queries from the Risk helpdesk and Business Intake team.
Requirements
  • Compliance, regulatory, or claims experience is essential, particularly within a risk and compliance team in a law firm, financial institution, or regulator.
  • Knowledge of conflicts of interest and financial crime is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills to meet the demands of challenging and commercial internal clients.
