Job Summary:
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group Limited is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Finance to join our pre-opening team at Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance and leadership to ensure the successful launch of our new hotel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and deliver accurate and timely financial reports to assist management decision-making and maintain internal control procedures designed to safeguard owners/investors assets and ensure compliance with country and local regulations.
- Pre-Opening Budgeting: Draft and assemble the pre-opening budget, drive the Finance divisional critical path, including recruitment of the Finance team, process structuring, and MO standards compliance.
- Financial Operations: Direct, manage, and support the development, implementation, maintenance, and administration of all financial controls and accounting procedures, based upon a maximization of internal control techniques consistent with the Hotel and the company.
- Financial Reporting: Supervise the preparation of all financial reports, ledger reviews, and forecasts according to the established schedule, for distribution of operational information necessary to assist management in decision-making and budget preparation processes.
- Internal Controls: Establish and oversee audits of all internal financial controls to include purchasing, cash handling, receipts, disbursements, expendable/fixed asset inventories, payroll, and employee records to ensure policies are enforced according to the Hotel standards and local law.
- Capital Planning: Assist management in the capital planning process by providing appropriate ROI information and coordinate the development of the Annual Budget and Monthly Forecasts.
Requirements:
- Financial Controller Experience: Extensive experience in hospitality accounting operations, a portion of which ideally in the luxury sector.
- Leadership and Management: Effective management, leadership, organizational, and communications skills.
- Financial Reporting: Ability to generate all financial reports, including profit & loss statement, income statement, etc.
- Technical Skills: Ability to assemble, analyze, understand integrated spreadsheets and complex technical information, advanced proficiency in Excel, and proficiency in systems such as Opera, Sun, Delphi, Hyperion, and Micros System.
- Language Skills: Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, as well as strong presentation skills.
