An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist post within the Young Onset Dementia Service (YOD). The post will provide a high-quality assessment service to individuals who may have dementia.

The post will be located within the Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) directorate and based at Kirkby in Ashfield in the Young Onset Dementia Service. The successful candidate will be expected to travel to various locations throughout the county of Nottinghamshire to complete assessments.

Main Responsibilities

The successful applicant will work under the supervision of an experienced Clinical Psychologist. The post holder will work as part of the diagnostic service providing neuropsychological assessments to aid in diagnosis.

The post holder should have the ability to travel across the county of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however, reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Key Requirements
  • Previous experience of neuropsychological assessment, preferably in a working-age context.
  • Ability to work alongside colleagues from a variety of other disciplines and excellent communication skills.
  • Psychology degree of 2.1 or above and eligibility for graduate basis for registration from BPS.
Contractual Obligations
  • A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however, reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
