Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Sales Manager to join our team at First Military Recruitment Ltd. As a Technical Sales Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and qualifying a sales pipeline, and developing and maintaining relationships with existing and prospect clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, and develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospect clients.
  2. Sales Pipeline Management: Build and qualify a sales pipeline of 5X monthly and annual business target, ensuring all leads, opportunities, and client interactions are qualified, accurately tracked, and updated.
  3. Industry Events and Networking: Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote the company's services and expand professional networks.
  4. Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospect clients, consultants, and industry influencers to generate leads and secure new projects.
  5. Quote and Proposal Management: Respond to requests for quotes/information/proposals (RFQ, RFI, and RFPs) and prepare fee proposals, ensuring timely and accurate submission of all required information.
  6. Collaboration and Market Research: Collaborate with the Operational and Technical Principal Engineers to develop competitive pricing strategies and bid submissions, and conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities for business growth.
  7. Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate contracts and close deals through full sales cycles to achieve sales targets and contribute to the company's revenue goals.
  8. Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports on business development activities, performance, and market insights to Senior Management.

Requirements:

  1. Education: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English.
  2. Experience: Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role.
  3. Skills: Strong understanding of sales process and market analysis, experience completing fee proposals, experience in consistently attaining sales targets, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other relevant professional networking tools (LinkedIn).
  4. Personal Qualities: Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry professionals, and internal teams, strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to changes quickly.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Education: A-Level (or equivalent) and/or BA degree in Business, Marketing, or related fields such as Earth Science and/or Engineering.
  2. Experience: Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the construction industry.
