About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Radiographer to join our team as a Clinical Lead for Radiotherapy Treatment at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of radiographers in the delivery of high-quality radiotherapy treatment to patients. This role requires excellent clinical skills, leadership abilities, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leadership and Management: Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, ensuring they meet the required standards of practice.
  2. Clinical Expertise: Maintain and develop advanced clinical skills in radiotherapy treatment delivery, including dosimetry and biological effects.
  3. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all equipment is safe for clinical use on a daily basis and perform quality assurance checks as required.
  4. Communication: Establish and maintain good communication links between radiographers, medical staff, physicists, and other staff groups.
  5. Education and Training: Provide advice and guidance on new techniques, procedures, and processes, and play a key role in the development of new projects.

Requirements

  • Education: BSc honours in radiotherapy or equivalent qualification recognised by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Registration: HCPC registration as a therapeutic radiographer.
  • Experience: Good experience of working across a range of treatment delivery and planning activities within the Radiotherapy Department as a senior radiographer.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and effective interpersonal skills.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave.
