Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary, estimated at £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our flexible working policy allows for a balance between work and personal life, with options to buy or sell leave. We also provide 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, which can be adapted to suit individual needs.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist to join our Environment, Waste and Radiological Services capability group. As a key member of our team, you will work on various technical projects, providing specialist advice and delivering environmental and waste management documentation. Your expertise will help demonstrate compliance with nuclear site licence and environmental permit conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support UK new build clients in providing specialist advice and delivering environmental and waste management documentation.
  • Work with defence facilities, generation stations, and decommissioning sites to deliver environmental and waste management services.
  • Apply your knowledge of the UK nuclear industry to overseas projects and international clients.
  • Lead other team members within a project-based environment and develop your management skills.
  • Participate in targeted training, on-the-job experience, mentoring, and continual professional development to further develop your technical and project skills.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience or awareness of environmental permitting and/or Best Available Techniques (BAT) assessments.
  • Waste management strategy development and radioactive waste characterisation and inventory.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry.
