Job Overview
TXM Recruit is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Doncaster. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will perform heavy fitting and overhaul work, meeting critical customer deadlines within a structured, safety-first environment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain an organized, clean work area following 5S principles.
2. Perform tasks meticulously using route cards, SOPs, and work instructions.
3. Conduct manual handling in a safe, trained manner.
4. Actively engage in training opportunities to expand skill sets.
5. Wear appropriate PPE at all times and support a cooperative work atmosphere.

Requirements:
- Preferred: Apprentice-trained engineer (mechanical discipline) or
- Minimum: Level 2 engineering qualification with a solid engineering background.
- Experience in heavy engineering, ideally in rail (HGV, Bus, Aerospace, or Motor Mechanics backgrounds also welcome).
- Basic computer skills, strong literacy/numeracy skills, and familiarity with work instructions.
- Physical capability for tasks involving manual handling, crawling, and working with machinery.

Compensation:
The starting salary is £29,829 + 12.5% Shift Allowance (training period of approx. 3 months), increasing to £32,002 + 12.5% Shift Allowance after the training period.
