About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Application Security Specialist to join our Cyber Security Team at Tesco. As a key member of our team, you will play a major role in protecting our organization against security risks and implementing innovative measures to minimize exposures and vulnerabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Help identify gaps in software engineering practices and select appropriate application security tooling that fits within our software development practices.
- Work using agile practices, such as Scrum, to deliver high-quality security solutions.
- Develop and deliver training on our core application security products to both security and engineering teams.
- Write and deliver easy-to-consume wiki content on the application security products we provide to the business.
- Promote security best practices across the business.
- Help build automation and monitoring to enforce security policies and detect threats.
- Help build safe-by-default guardrails for engineers to use.
Requirements
- Proficient in at least one scripting or programming language, such as Python, JavaScript, or Java.
- Experience supporting, administering, and building cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure.
- Experience configuring at least one continuous integration tool, such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Proven experience operating and administering Linux distributions, including RHEL, Ubuntu, and CentOS.
- Understanding of containerization and container orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong operations and technical troubleshooting experience.
