Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a Secondary School setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to pupils with SEN in various learning contexts, including the classroom, local environment, and community.
  • Empower and support pupils with a range of needs, such as PMLD, complex medical conditions, and autism, to achieve their educational and personal goals.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and the rights of our pupils to be treated with respect and seen as learners.
  • Participate in physical intervention and personal care routines, if required.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a school is advantageous.
  • Previous experience with SEN is essential.
  • Friendly, confident, and calm attitude.
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults.
  • Adaptable to working with children with vulnerable backgrounds.
  • An individual with good knowledge of Safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education.
  • Be passionate about helping students to succeed academically, emotionally, and socially.
  • Have a calming presence and be able to engage well with the pupils (Year 7 to Year 11).
  • You will be dedicated to ensuring that all children achieve their very best.
  • Contribute to the values, ethos, and development of the school.
