About the Role

The SEN Case Officer will be responsible for completing EHCP assessments and reviews, including writing and amending plans, and monitoring pupils with special educational needs. This role involves supporting the SEN team to ensure the local authority meets all legal requirements and completes statutory processes within set timeframes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice 2015.
  • Extensive knowledge of the assessment process for children with special educational needs.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014.
  • Knowledge of current issues in education and children's services.
  • Ability to maintain successful relationships with a range of stakeholders, including schools, families, health, and social care teams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the concepts and implications of special educational needs.
