Financial Controller Job Description

Grafton Banks Finance Recruitment is currently assisting a growing SME in Headcorn to recruit a Financial Controller to manage a small finance function and help expand the business. This is a newly created role, reporting to the CFO and will suit a career-driven and ambitious finalist (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or someone who is qualified by experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cash Flow Management: Develop and maintain accurate cash flow forecasts and reports to ensure the company's financial stability.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of 3 finance staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure the smooth operation of the finance function.
  • Financial Analysis: Work closely with the CFO to analyze profitability and make recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly management accounts and annual financial reports/audits to stakeholders.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Future Growth: Demonstrate flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as the company grows.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Finalist (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Financial Controller/Finance Manager, including cash flow forecasting, balance sheet reconciliations, and year-end audits.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with SAP and Power BI.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Location: Must be living within commutable distance of Headcorn, Kent.

This role offers a competitive salary of up to £65,000 per annum, plus benefits and hybrid working (2 days from home after getting up to speed).
