Clinical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Specialist to join our Core CAMHS Team. The successful candidate will work with young people who have moderate to severe mental health needs, providing mental health assessments and psychological therapies.
The post holder will work in the CAMHS Huntingdon and Fenland Team Core Pathway, supporting and leading on service improvement initiatives, and providing effective clinical leadership and supervision to staff.
The ideal candidate will have a strong team and work ethic, with accountability, interest in research and service development, accompanied by an ability to work under considerable pressure at times.
Main duties of the job
- Provide evidence-based assessment and treatment to Children, young people, and families with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
- Identify levels of clinical risk and prioritise accordingly and provide advice and leadership to staff.
- Provide comprehensive and collaborative assessment to children, young people, and families.
- Provide collaborative care plans and effective evidence-based intervention to children, young people, and families.
Essential qualifications and experience
- Substantial post-qualifying clinical experience in a setting or with a client group relevant to CAMHS.
- Experience of mental health risk assessment and management.
- Experience of working with children and young people and families.
- Experience of providing clinical supervision.
Skills and Abilities
- Able to demonstrate commitment to high quality care and service provisions.
- Planning and organising skills.
- Highly developed communication skills, verbally and in writing.
Knowledge and Understanding
- Knowledge of how Community CAMHS services operate including systems for referral management and multi-disciplinary approaches.
- Knowledge of typical and atypical child development.
- Knowledge of Children's safeguarding mechanisms.
