Social Worker Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Worker to join our team, supporting unaccompanied asylum-seeking children as they adjust to life in the UK.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to empower vulnerable young people, providing them with the care and guidance they need to thrive in our restorative practice local authority environment.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Supporting UASC as looked-after children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development.
  • Helping them navigate the complexities of the immigration system and advocating for their rights.
  • Supporting asylum-seeking young people as children in care.
  • Creating and implementing 'triple plan' pathway plans tailored to their immigration, education, health, employment, housing, cultural, and personal needs.
  • Conducting specialist assessments, including Merton-compliant age assessments where required.
  • Promoting cultural awareness and ensuring sensitivity to the religious and cultural needs of UASC.
Key Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A professional Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people.
  • Cultural awareness, empathy, and sensitivity to the unique needs of asylum-seeking children.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with young people and advocate effectively on their behalf.
