About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at Meridian Business Support. As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction phase of our projects, working closely with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to accurately estimate project costs and prepare competitive bids.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Review project plans and specifications to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Material Take-Offs: Conduct thorough material take-offs and labour estimates for each project phase.
  • Subcontractor Management: Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals.
  • Project Budgeting: Collaborate with project managers to develop accurate project budgets and schedules.
  • Cost Estimation: Provide timely and accurate cost estimates for client proposals.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyse cost data and market trends to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
  • Project Meetings: Participate in project meetings and provide ongoing cost analysis and recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, Conquest etc).
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and building codes.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
