We are TradeChoice Carpet & Flooring, a leading distributor of flooring products in the UK. We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 2 HGV Driver to join our team.

About the Role

As a Class 2 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for performing multi-drop deliveries in a safe and timely manner. You will also be required to supervise the HGV's loading and unloading, ensuring that the load is accurate and in keeping with customers' orders.

You will work closely with our warehouse team to ensure that goods are delivered to customers in excellent condition. You will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with tachograph law and safety regulations, as well as ensuring the cleanliness of the HGV and preventing damage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing multi-drop deliveries in a safe and timely manner
  • Supervising the HGV's loading and unloading
  • Ensuring the load is accurate and in keeping with customers' orders
  • Quality checking goods-off with customers and obtaining their signature
  • Maintaining compliance with tachograph law and safety regulations
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the HGV and preventing damage
  • Reporting any accidents immediately in line with the accident reporting procedure
  • Completing daily inspection sheet and handing it to the Operations Manager
  • Providing support in the warehouse as required
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 1 year of driving experience in the UK
  • Highway code and road safety best practices
  • HGV and delivery driving experience
  • UK geographical knowledge
  • Excellent driving skills and road etiquette
  • Ability to work to diversions
  • Planning and organisation skills
  • Thorough communication and reliability
  • Awareness of health importance, particularly during autonomous working time
  • Manual/physical dexterity
  • Interpersonal skills, particularly towards customers and colleagues
  • Able to remain calm and conducive in stressful situations
  • UK Driving Licence (Category C, Full, Clean)
  • Class 2 HGV Licence
  • Driver CPC
