Financial Controller

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Fort Merchanting Ltd t/a Fort Builders Merchant. This is a full-time and permanent role based at our main site, reporting to the Finance Director.

As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for processing and managing our Purchase Ledger and company payments facility in a dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience within an accounts payable/purchase ledger role or accounts assistant role, with good communication skills and IT skills - Microsoft Office suite and aptitude to work with new/different IT systems.

• Process large volumes of supplier invoices (and credit notes) in a timely and accurate manner, matching to POs and GRNs.
• Aid implementation of and transition to automated invoice processing software.
• Perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly payment runs in the systems and bank for approval by the Finance Director and send remittances to creditors;
• Review bank and credit card for, and post ad hoc payments, posting to supplier accounts and requesting invoices.
• Maintain creditor accounts, keeping all details updated and processing new supplier accounts (including account applications).
• Assist with month-end checking, providing details of accruals for management accounts.
