We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Engineer to join our team at oilandgas. As a Sales Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting both internal and external customers in the generation of technically challenging proposals.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and deliver detailed technical/commercial packages to customers, evaluating customer requirements, accurately costing the scope of supply, and ensuring accurate quotations are produced.
- Support high-value external customer accounts, act as a point of contact to ensure excellent customer service, manage current relationships, and develop new ones.
- Prioritize demand/workload to ensure deadlines are met.
- Review customer and industry-specified technical specifications to ascertain acceptance or otherwise for each allocated project or enquiry.
- Engage with customers to ensure the final product/package quoted meets their requirements.
- Engage with internal/external supply chain to ensure the most competitive price and correct quality product is available.
- Drive solutions and improvements in daily tasks.
- Act as a conduit of technical information between the sales team and internal departments when the handover of information is required.
- Carry out robust contract review, including holding meetings when necessary, to ensure key stakeholders are aware of requirements to prevent HSE, OTIF, or quality being negatively impacted by lack of due diligence.
- Support the Sales team in checking and/or approval of enquiry/new part creation.
- Assist in solving customer-related problems (pain) relating to design where it prevents further technical business development.
- Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline (essential).
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline (desirable).
- Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment (essential).
- Working knowledge of design projects operating within multi-disciplinary teams (essential).
- Working knowledge within a manufacturing environment within the Energy Industry (desirable).
- Experience within a similar position (desirable).
- Experience within upstream oil and gas working on high-pressure valves and fittings (desirable).
- Experience in preparation of commercial/quotation packages (desirable).
- Commercial awareness and experience working in a sales environment (desirable).
