We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Preservation Specialist to join our team at the University of Leeds. As a key member of our IT Service, you will be responsible for delivering a sustainable service that manages the discovery, usability, management, and preservation of Special Collections metadata and digital collections.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in scripting languages such as PHP, Python, or Perl, with a strong understanding of LAMP stack development. Familiarity with digital asset management and digital scholarship is also desirable. You will work closely with Library and IT colleagues to lead the managed development of systems, designing and implementing new tools or integrating existing tools with new technologies to deliver a seamless resource discovery experience for users.
In this role, you will utilise your skills and knowledge to provide high-quality proactive and reactive application support and development, ensuring user documentation is developed and maintained in line with standard operating procedures. Your work will involve ensuring alignment with industry best practice, IT standards, and regulatory compliance.
