Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Engineering Operative to join our team at Bird Bellows. As an Apprentice Engineering Operative, you will play a crucial role in converting raw materials into saleable manufactured products, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Convert raw materials and purchased parts into saleable manufactured products using production tooling and machinery.
  • Ensure the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) is used for operations being performed.
  • Adhere to required standards of behaviour and discipline on site and in college.
  • Utilise tools and machinery in a safe manner and in accordance with all safety instructions.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a high standard of health and safety based on safe working practices.
Requirements
  • Grade 3 or above in GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths & English and two other subjects.
  • Ability to follow instructions during on and off the job training.
  • Positive attitude to learning new skills both on site and at college.
  • Excellent timekeeping both on site and at college.
  • Receive, retain, and process information both on and off the job.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and error checking.
