Job Overview

We are seeking a caring and experienced teaching assistant to join our primary school team at Reed. The successful candidate will work under the instruction/guidance of teaching or other senior staff to undertake care and learning programmes and activities to support individuals or groups of pupils.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Supporting the delivery of the EYFS curriculum within the classroom and outdoor learning spaces.
  • Assisting in planning and preparing engaging learning activities for early years pupils.
  • Providing a safe and supportive environment for children to explore and learn.
  • Helping to assess children's progress and report back to teachers and parents.

The ideal candidate will have at least NVQ Level 2 in Childcare or an equivalent qualification, as well as experience of theory and practice of effective teaching and learning in Primary. They will also be able to manage groups of children and provide a safe and supportive environment for them to explore and learn.

We offer a competitive salary of £24,000-£28,000 per annum, depending on experience, and the opportunity to work in a lovely rural setting. Please note that this is a fixed-term position initially due to the school's current needs. There may be the opportunity to secure a permanent contract, but this is not guaranteed. The successful candidate must have access to their own transport due to the rural location of the school.
