The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical components and systems for a variety of applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development:
    • Develop innovative mechanical designs using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).
    • Create detailed drawings, specifications, and documentation for mechanical components and assemblies.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and constraints.
    • Support for DFMEA Process and documentation Plan;
  • Prototyping and Testing:
    • Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts.
    • Preparing test plans and documentation for DVP activities
    • Analyse test data and modify designs to meet performance and safety standards.
    • Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Project Management:
    • Manage design projects from concept through production.
    • Develop project timelines, track progress, and ensure deadlines are met.
    • Communicate project status and challenges to stakeholders.
  • Manufacturing Support:
    • Work closely with manufacturing teams/ external suppliers to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
    • Assist in the development of manufacturing processes and tooling.
    • Provide technical support during the production phase.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and implement design improvements to enhance product performance, reduce cost, and improve reliability.
    • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Compliance and Standards:
    • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
    • Prepare and review engineering documentation for compliance and quality assurance.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in mechanical engineering. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred) or;
  • An equivalent qualification and significant related experience

Experience in mechanical design engineering, CAD software, and simulation tools is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software are also required.
