Permanent Head of Science Opportunity

Teaching Personnel is working with an independent 11-19 SEMH school in Northampton, seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Science to join their team on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Science department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement a sequenced curriculum, building knowledge and skills towards agreed end points.
  • Collaborate with the Head Teacher and Leadership team to deliver a cohesive education strategy.
  • Manage and motivate a team of Science teachers, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher (QTS/QTLS/PGCE) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience of teaching Science to secondary classes/groups.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver engaging curriculum content using a range of teaching styles and methodologies.
  • Experience within an SEN setting is advantageous.
